Nordic Mithology

Do you know what are the nordics countries? and why they are named like that?
Well, I am going to explain a little bit about them and their mithology.

Iceland, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Sweddan, these countries are famous for their legends and history based in a exceptional mythology.
It is belived that Odin is the god of one of the nine worlds in the world tree called Yggdrasil,  the world that odin kings is Asgard. This world is located in the highest part of the heaven and the only way to pass is by the bifrost bridge (raimbow).
Everyone has heard about Thor, character that is famous for the comics and for the latest movie about him.
Thor is a god and son of Odin, he was the god of the thunder, his strenght and power are derived from is hammer.
There are many comparations between Thor and our son of god (Jesus). If you think about it, every place has put their faith in one iluminated and cosmic entity. So maybe Thor came to our world as Jesus did.
No one can say that there are nothing after our sky.

"Gnomes in Colombia"

"Gnomes", these creatures are famous in all Europe specially in Ireland but with a different name "Leprechauns". In England we have seen them in movies and books as "Elves".
But they are not only from these countries, there is a several numbers of tales, legends or myths in all America too. There is a scary legend in Colombia about them.
Once upon a time in an old ranch in Colombia, there was a marriage with three daughters marriageable; all of them used to have boyfriend that time and they used to make a lot of parties too. These parties were very fun because they used to play a lot of table games and artistic demonstrations accompanied with some music instrument.
One Saturday, when there was a party full of guests, The Servitude were feeling so impressed because all the things and food that supposedly need to be done, for unknown reasons, were impossible to make. After that, they called the patroness to warn her that they couldn't do anything, because everything was bad; that something evil was involved there. The Lady with the three daughters were more alarmed, because they noticed that something weird have been happening to them in their rooms as well.
When the lady entered alone to the living room, hear a voice behind the door saying: "Don't insist that the guests wont come, today they are in a funeral". Listening that, she screamed intensely but the voice came out again saying "Don't be scare, thank me the warning".
The Lady couldn't handle that. She called her husband and daughters to talk about that scary thing and to help her to think how she can fix what happened. When they were discussing that issue, a servant came bringing the same news that the gnome told to the lady. Just the husband arrived, she told him about the weird events and that she wanted to move from that place immediately.
When the family finally moved and the lady were unpacking alone all the luggages, she listened the same chilling voice saying...."What can I help you?..You know..I came from all the mess of the trip". The scared lady ask him: "are you an insect, soul, or what?". the answer couldn't wait..."I am your friend, your loyal partner and server..."
After days that the gnome was disturbing the lady, inflicting a desperate nervousness in her. As soon the husband arrived from the ranch, expressed his desire of moving all the family to the main city of the country.
The husband a little worried because the trip could inflict with his business, he had to accede. They sold both houses and  left.
It is said when the lady was distributing the furniture and other things, the voice came again perturbing her with a persisting way that she couldn't handle anymore and got sick.
Then the daughters called a priest of the church to ask if he could bless the house and make exorcisms. they said that that was the only way to get rid of the gnome.

Scary right? thats why I cant say that I don't believe is supernatural things, you never know what its out there.

Peru Legend "The Tunchi"

You know where Peru is right?
For those ones who don't know, Peru is famous for Machu Pichu and its located in south America. Peru border with the Pacific Ocean, Ecuador, Colombia, Brasil, Bolivia and Chile.
As other countries, Peru has a variety of interesting legends and myths. There is a particular one that caught  my attention and its called "The Tunchi".
Based on Believes of this culture, "The Tunchi" is a lost spirit of someone who died in the jungle, which this one es sentenced to roam in the depths of the jungle and the darkness of the night.
It is said that "The Tunchi" follow the same way who toured during its tenerral life. "The Tunchi" announce its presence with a weak sound and then approaches.
This Sound is shocking and sharp, that runs like a chill down the spine.
It is Believed that "The Tunchi" is a jungle guardian and wont hurt to those ones who respect the Flora and Fauna. However, those ones who hurt the jungle to cut their trees or kill their animals will confront its rage.

Well, I think this believe make sense if you are part of the few who protects the nature. In my opinion this legend deserves my respect.

Yucatan Legend

Hi everyone,

The light of the sun is wonderful in the southeast of Mexico, especially in Merida, Yucatan, which this place is famous for one of the new seven wonders of the world. Probably you are thinking about "Chichenitza" and yes, you are right, this place is an enigma of the Mayan Culture.
Who were the Mayans?
Mayans were a Mesoamerican civilization in Yucatan, Mexico during the period of c.2000 BC to 250 AC, and hides a lot of interesting legends.
Have you read or hear about "the fearsome Tunkuluchu"? Maybe yes or maybe not, but this legend have impacted me and I think is one the best and admirable ones from this culture.
It is believe that in the heart of Yucatan, the grandparents used to tell this famous tale to their grandsons and granddaughters.
"Tunkuluchu" is a lonely bird that gets out from its hide during the dusk to wander by the cemeteries and accompany to its good friend " The Death". After walk in the darkness and graves or crypts, "The Death" decide to take the life of a person that same night and the "Tunkuluchu", then, has to announce "that death" through a gloomy scream that came out from the depths of its being.
The people in Yucatan, Mayans or not, tremble only to think about listening to its peculiar song, because they are not sure if someone of their neighborhood is going to die.
